PARC Foundation

The 2,000 square foot ground-floor space in the NOHO-East district of Manhattan was transformed into a home for a new non-profit art and architecture foundation. The space features the main gallery, a separate project space, administrative offices, and support areas. The spatial configuration responds to the foundation’s need for flexible programming, while the new materials, finishes, and detailing anticipate heavy use and wear over time. Polycarbonate partitions maximize the amount of natural lights filtering into the office workstations, while artificial lighting – in addition to providing a range of illumination options for the different kinds of events that take place there – highlights the existing arrangement of load-bearing steel columns and beams that longitudinally organize the space.
